An adjective you want attached to your name. Cheap to justify internally, and it says something a category word cannot.

A category word says what you do. A status word says what you are, which is the claim a company cannot easily make about itself anywhere else without sounding like it is making it.
"fast" is a positioning statement for an infrastructure company. "free" is a pricing page in one word. "human" is a counter-position on a board this full of AI vocabulary, and in a market where every competitor is automating the same thing, it is a commercial claim rather than a joke — made by humans, human support, human in the loop.
These are the cheapest purchases on the board to justify internally and the hardest to win, because the adjective you want attached to your name is usually the one your closest competitor wants too. That is the fight, and it happens once — whoever is highest when the clock stops keeps the adjective.
Why you would want one
Your positioning is one adjective. You sell speed, or a free tier, or the fact that a person is behind it — so take the adjective.
What buying one costs
Every word carries a reserve, the price under which it does not sell — the lowest in this category is $25, and bidding opens well below it. Each later bid has to clear the current one by at least $5 or 10%, whichever is larger, and a bid in the last minutes pushes the close back. Whoever is highest when it ends owns the word permanently — there is nothing to renew, and no way for anyone to take it afterwards.
What you get is the word's page with your name, a line of copy, a logo and one outbound link; a slot on the board; a vanity URL you can say out loud; a live badge for your README; and click counts tagged so the traffic shows up in your own analytics. The full rules.
